Michael R. Tate

A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, with Certified Celebrant Betty Frey officiating. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.

Born February 2, 1945 in York, a son of the late Robert and Lillian Tate, he was a 1963 graduate of William Penn Senior High. Mr. Tate retired in 2011 from York Technical Institute where he taught Computer Aided Drawing. Michael was a member of Motor Menders Rod & Custom Club and Central PA Model Car Club, where he received numerous awards at the York Fair for his models. He also enjoyed participating in volunteer work.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Tate is survived by a daughter; grandson; and stepson.
