

York - Vivian F. Young, 98, died May 29, 2018 at Broadmore Senior Living. She was the wife of the late Preston S. Young for 65 years. Skip was born May 27, 1920 and was the daughter of Carl and Mary Hutton.
An avid tennis, basketball, and volleyball player, Skip excelled at almost any sport she tried. She graduated from Red Lion High School in 1938. Skip was self employed owning her own ladies apparel shop, "Skip's", for 15 years. She and her husband owned a neighborhood grocery store for over 20 years. When the sale of alcohol was legalized in Red Lion, Skip and her husband obtained the first liquor license. They owned and operated the Happy Hour until their retirement. Mrs. Young was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Red Lion.
Skip is survived by daughter, Vicki E. Fitz of Lake Tahoe, NV; two granddaughters, Christi Tollinger of York and Tami Gardner of Reno, NV; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brother, Robert F. Hutton; and a great-grandson.
At the request of Mrs. Young there will be no viewing or services. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to be made in Vivian's memory to St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Red Lion and Grane Hospice Care, Inc. in Pittsburgh.
