It’s been two years since Amos left us. I think of him frequently. He was a special man & special in so many ways. He told fine, enriching stories about his childhood in Arkansas, his service to his country in Japan & Korea during the Korean War. He also served his country heading the Border Patrol & later the Immigration Service.

My grandfather was a great man and had the best stories. I am beyond greatful that he got to meet my children his great grandchildren. My boys thought he was the greatest and they loved his stories.  Favorite was the Studebaker on the moon. Love you grandpa sorry we didn't have a little more time together, until we meet again.

Uncle Amos was the beloved younger brother of my mother, Birdie.  They were the two youngest and he was the last surviving of the 12 children of Reuben and Hassie Edens.  His passing feels like the end of an era, and leaves a hole in our hearts.  He led a fascinating life and had many interesting stories.  My brother Ron, his wife Joyce, and I were fortunate to be able to visit him two years ago.  His memory was not what it once was, but he knew us, and his smile, his sweetness, his sense of humor and his stories were intact.  Love you, Uncle.

I loved my dad more than you could understand. He was wise, kind and had the best sense of humor!
He taught us responsibility, determination and that we could do whatever we put our minds to. He and his 13 brothers and sisters were brought up in the church and taught kindness and compassion for all. Dad  was the youngest of the children and now it is up to our generation to carry on the faith and amazing stories he shared with us. I love you dad and miss you. Thanks for picking me as your daughter.  ❤️🙏🏻💜💕🙏🏻

My dad adopted me as a baby. He never treated me anyway but as his daughter. He would tell me the story of how he chose me. He said I reached up to him and then I was his baby girl. He took us traveling all over the United States. We visited a bunch of our relatives. He was the youngest of 14 children. He was the last of the children of Reuben and Hassie Edens to survive. He always had a great disposition and was funny! I am so glad I took my oldest daughter the month before he passed to visit him. I love you dad. Your loving daughter Latana ❤️🙏🏻💜

It’s an old adage, “From an Acorn grew a Mighty Oak” - with Amos Edens that is true.  
From a childhood on a farm in rural Arkansas to becoming a leader in the Border Patrol and then The United States Immigration Service, Amos achieved recognition for his achievements.
Amos was a fine story teller - stories of his childhood on the farm,  his  experiences during the Korean War, Japan and his love of Geisha Girls.
Amos loved his family and dear friends. I was fortunate to know Amos, an exceptional and loved man.    Jim Peters

Amos was an amazing man, has shared many stories with me and my children about growing up a a kid and when his was stationed in Korea during the war, he talked about his Border Patrol days and Immigration his trip to Japan he loved this Geisha girls. I loved his stories. I loved him and I will miss him dearly.
