Dolores Margaret Morin 1929-2021 Surprise AZ
Dolores "Dorie" Morin age 91, of Surprise AZ, enter into eternal rest on January 16,2021. She was born on August 9,1929 in Fulda MN to William and Agnes Odenbrett. Dorie and her 5 siblings grew up in Fulda, where Dorie also graduated from high school. She married George Morin at St. Gabriels Catholic Church in Fulda MN on October 11, 1949. They celebrated 68 years of marriage before his passing in 2018. Of this union there were 4 children. Gary (Martha) Morin-Jacobson MN, Georgia (Bruce) Nygren- Lake City MN, Lori (Roy) Hiebert- Surprise AZ and Mary (Darrel) Halla- Owatonna MN.
After marriage, George and Dorie lived in Windom, MN where Dorie worked as a banker and at an Income Tax Office preparing taxes. In 1969 the family moved to Kasson, MN to fulfill George's ambition of owning a restaurant, and purchased The Boston Café. In 1974 they sold the café and moved to Owatonna, MN where they managed the Lincoln Square Apartments. Dorie also worked at the Owatonna Inn as a night auditor and desk clerk. After working at the Owatonna Inn she began working at Federated Insurance. In 1987 Federated transferred her and George to Arizona. She retired from Federated Insurance in 1994.
Dorie is survived by her four children, 13 Grandchildren, 31 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren, her siblings Eugene (Caryl) Odenbrett (Flandreau SD), Jeanette (Ed) Wieskus (Chaska, MN), Lorraine Roemeling (Sioux Falls SD) and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband George, Dorie was proceeded in death by her sister Geraldine Tiller, brother Leon Odenbrett and special nieces, nephews and In-laws.
Advantage Golden Door Funeral & Cremation Services located at 11211 West Michigan Ave Youngtown, AZ 85363 is handling the funeral arrangements. There will be a viewing and rosary from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM on Wednesday January 27, 2021, with the Catholic Mass following at St Clare of Assisi Church 17111 W Bell Rd Surprise, AZ 85374 at 10:30 AM.
