Dolores Irene (Montano) Quiñones, born on July 12, 1947, to Felipe Montaño and María Maclovia Vigil, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025 surrounded by her family. Dolores was the fourth of seven children born to her parents. She was born in Greeley, Colorado, and grew up surrounded by her loving family. Her family moved to Arizona when she was young. She attended Dysart Elementary School and later graduated from Peoria High School.
Dolores met Salvador Rivera, and together they shared a beautiful life. They were married and raised three children—two daughters and one son—and remained devoted to one another until Salvador’s passing in December 1996.
A few years later, Dolores met Valeriano R. Quiñones, and their bond quickly grew into love. The two were married on June 24, 2000, at St. Teresita Catholic Church in El Mirage, Arizona. With her marriage to Valeriano, Dolores welcomed four additional children into her life, blending their families with love and care.
Dolores was a devoted Catholic, praying her rosary twice a day, and found strength and peace in her faith. In her younger years, she loved to dance, go out, and enjoy life with friends and family. She cherished the holidays, especially Christmas, when her home was filled with love, laughter, and the aroma of her homemade tamales. Christmas Eve was a special tradition where the children could open one gift, followed by a joyful “free-for-all” on Christmas morning.
A dedicated homemaker, Dolores devoted herself entirely to her family. She prepared meals for her children every day, attended their games, and supported them in everything they did. Her love extended to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. Her home was always open, a welcoming place for anyone in need of comfort, support, or simply a warm meal and companionship.
Dolores leaves behind her husband, Val; her children, Rita with Bennie Ramos, Salvador Rivera, Elizabeth with Raul Castaneda, Joanna with Ralph Montoya, Gary with Delia Quiñones, and Alexander Quiñones; her many beloved grandchildren: Felicia, Stephanie, Regina, Bennie, Michelle, Audrey, Sabrina, Christopher, Gizzele, Adriana, Adam, Angelica, Benjamin, Nicholas, Gary Jr., Ryan, Irene, Gina, Alex Jr., Desiree, Sarah, Destiny, Francis, and Matthew; and her great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Daniel, Gilbert, Orlando, Benino, Domanic, Mya, Scarlett, Vivienne, Luca, Noah, Joseph, Antonio, Lully Marie, Trinidad, Christopher, and approximately 30 more, each of whom brought her immense joy.
Dolores was greeted in heaven by her loving parents, Felipe and Maclovia; her siblings, Rita, Joe, Jimmy, Johnny; her stepson Junior; her grandson, Val IV (“Chachi”); and her first husband, Salvador Rivera.
Those who knew Dolores remember her as someone whose beauty radiated from within. Her kindness, loving nature, and unforgettable smile left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was deeply cherished by both family and friends alike.
May the memory of Dolores Irene Quinones bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
A visitation service for Dolores will be held at Golden Door Advantage Mortuary, 11211 West Michigan Avenue, Youngtown, Arizona 85363, on Tuesday, October 21st at 10 a.m., followed by a rosary and a committal service at West Rest Haven Park Cemetery in Glendale, Arizona.
