Gene led a life defined by service, dedication, and joy. He proudly served over 20 years in the United States Marine Corps, Army, and Army Reserves, retiring with honor. Following his military career, he dedicated more than 30 years to Sears, where his hard work and reliability earned the respect of coworkers and customers alike.
Gene loved to travel and especially enjoyed cruises. He was a devoted and proud father who found happiness in spending time with family and friends. Always smiling and full of life, Gene loved to dance, meet new people, and share laughter—he never met a stranger.
He is survived by his children: daughter Dixie Perkins, son Donnie Stubblefield, and daughter Debbie Waters; grandchildren Justin, Chelsea, Kenny, Jason, and Joshua; and great-grandchildren Penelope and Theodore, along with many dear friends who will cherish his memory.
Gene was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joyce Stubblefield, his parents Robert and Pearl Stubblefield, and his great-granddaughter Mila Steinberg.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like all who knew Gene to take a moment to remember and share happy memories and celebrate his remarkable life.
