Karen Elaine Baker

Karen Elaine Hannah Baker was born February 4, 1949 in Kane, PA to Alfred and Julia Hannah. She went home to be with her Lord on December 15, 2014 in her home in Peoria, AZ. Karen attended schools in Greenville, IL and Phoenix, AZ before going to Spring Arbor College in Michigan. After graduation from Spring Arbor in 1971, she was a social case worker for the Michigan State Department of Economic Security until 1975. She married Alan Dynes in December of 1972 and they relocated to Phoenix in 1975. They had one son, Michael Lee in 1976. The marriage later ended in divorce. Karen was employed by the Maricopa County Health Department from 1975 to 1981. In 1988 until she retired in 2002, she was part of the office staff at Northwest Christian School in Phoenix. In 1978 Karen started attending church where she met Robert Baker and they were married on January 4, 1980. They had one daughter, Charissa, born in December 1981. Karen is survived by her husband, Robert, daughter Charissa and son Michael; daughter-in-love, Denise and 4 amazing grandchildren, Jackson, Elaine, Helen and Lenore Dynes. She is also survived by her brother Dale and Barb Hannah and her sister Kathy and Doug Howard, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. After Karen retired, she and Bob were involved in serving the Lord in various mission capacities around the world. They traveled and worked in Southern Sudan, India, and Ukraine. She loved to travel and was always helping someone else. She did everything from being a mid-wife in Sudan to teaching the Word to orphans in Ukraine. She loved everybody she ever met and they loved her. Karen loved the Lord Jesus with all her heart and is now praising Him in Glory. I am sure she is rejoicing with Him and all those who may have gone before. She was the epitome of a great wife, mother, and grandmother. She will always be in our hearts until we join her forever.
