Margaret L. Brooks

Margaret (Peggy) Lurene Brooks of Peoria, Arizona, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2019 after a 5-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Peggy was born in Lewistown, Pennsylvania to Victor and Margaret (Getz), Schwab, August 24, 1934. She was married for 42 years to James Brooks until his death in 1997. Peggy worked for many years as a bank teller and auditor for Chase Bank when it was Valley National Bank. With her knowledge of banking, she later volunteered at her church in its accounting office. Peggy also spent several years in the event planning/decorating business throughout the valley. In the early stages of the disease, she was an active participant at Rock Steady Boxing. Peggy also enjoyed sewing, painting, camping and cross-country skiing in Alaska.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Victor. She is survived by her daughters, Terry Davies and Brenda (Charles) Hennen, grandchildren, Adam (Carrie Jagodzinski) Davies and Brian (Ashley) Davies, Hazel, Claire and Jack Hennen as well as great grandchildren, Easton and Austyn Davies.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 24, 2019 at 3:00 at Life Church, 8765 W. Kelton Lane, Peoria, AZ and will be officiated by Pastor Derik Hines. Refreshments to follow at the church.
