Michael "Mike" P. Connolly, 64, passed from this world due to an illness on Sunday, November 19th and was surrounded by the comfort of his family and friends. A longtime resident of Peoria, Arizona, he leaves his beloved wife Mary, daughters Brandy, Kayla and Taylor. He is also survived by sisters Donna "D", Debra and her husband Steve, granddaughters Madison and Paeton as well as close family friends Bobby, Louis and Michael.
Mike grew up in Natick, Massachusetts, active in local sports, then joined the US Air Force where he honorably served his country. During his time in the military, Mike obtained his bachelor's degree in business administration from Boston University, and eventually settled in Arizona where he grew a successful consulting business, and met Mary, the love of his life. Mike and Mary spent many years travelling and experiencing what the world had to offer together, a dream which they shared. Whether it was Casey's Diner in Natick, or Yama's in Delay Beach, they made friends along their journey - and it wasn't unusual that their orders were always ready for them before they even sat down, because of the relationships that they built together (and the frequency in which they visited). Above all, Mike cherished his family and had amazing friends across the world as far away as Ireland and to the beaches of Hawaii. Mike was known for his generosity, warmth and for his love of animals, having rescued several pets for their lifelong companionship. Mike was an avid sportsman and enjoyed working out in addition to dominating the sports of softball and hockey, and always cheered on teams from his New England roots, especially the Patriots. If one could be guilty of enjoying the Beatles "too much", it would have been Mike. However, Mike was authentic in the way he approached life, and one can't help but think of the Beatles song "All you need is love" because Mike had an abundance of love from those who were fortunate enough to be impacted by his life and legacy.
Funeral and Burial Services will be privately held. Donations in his name made to the Arizona Humane Society, South Mountain Campus, 1521 W. Dobbins Rd. Phoenix, AZ. 85041, AZhumane.org are greatly appreciated.
