Born in Hollywood, California, on July 27, 1939, Susan grew up in Southern California and graduated from Long Beach State University. She eventually settled in Costa Mesa, where she began her career as an elementary school teacher. Later, she dedicated ten years to serving as a legal investigator specializing in juvenile law, working on behalf of children who had been abused or neglected. Through this work, she helped advocate for some of society’s most vulnerable children.
Susan was an ordained elder and deacon and was actively involved in Inner Healing Prayer for many years. After retiring, she was invited to join an international prayer team, allowing her to combine her passion for ministry with her love of people and different cultures.

Beyond her ministry, Susan enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and had a competitive side, particularly when it came to playing cards. An avid card player, she especially enjoyed poker and contract rummy, pursuits that brought her enjoyment and opportunities to share laughter and fellowship with others.
Susan was predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years, Harold Laflamme.
