Viola ‘Jane’ Miller (Penrod) died peacefully on January 10, 2019 in Peoria Arizona, at the age of 97. She is survived by her husband, Dan N. Miller of Peoria Arizona, her sons, Lonnie and wife Ayako, David and wife Martha, her grandchildren David, Cassie, Danny, Michael, great-grandson Everett, and her sister Wanda.
Jane was born in Portland Indiana on August 1, 1921, one of six children to Leonard and Pearl Penrod. Growing up on a farm, she developed a great work ethic and her love for cooking at an early age. Jane married Dan N. Miller on June 6, 1953. Together, they built a wonderful life, celebrating their 65th anniversary this past June.
During her career, Jane worked at the Arizona Department of Corrections, where she was often recognized and awarded for her outstanding work.
Jane enjoyed many things including reading books about politics and people, cooking, and most of all family. A cherished wife, mom, mother-in-law, and grandma, she will always be adored for her love, integrity, renowned family meals, and her great sense of humor.
A private gathering in her honor will be held at their home in Arizona for family members.
