Chuy I think about you all of the time I still think of all of conversations.  I now have no one to talk too and I miss you talking to me when things weren't going the way you wanted.  You are missed.

Mom and I are at Dodgers Stadium. We are where it all started. Mom and Dave met here 43 years ago when my mom locked her keys in the car. Dave being a Caltrans Mechanic kept telling Mom and I over and over "I would help you but I don't work weekends" 🤣😂🤣😂 That lead to him joining our family until he passed. We love you Chico the man. We will never forget you and miss and love you like crazy. We did bring him with us on my lanyard. Thank you uncle Phillip Kallio for treating us to this much needed outing. Love you

Part 2 of 2 . . . The following day I believe Dave, Linda, Rachele, Kris and I started the caravan up to Lake Success. Dave and I were in the Winnebago, while Linda, Rachael & Kris were in the Jeep.

Dave Molina was driving the Winnebago around Lake Success.  I believe we were looking for a good location near the lake to set up camp.  At a point in time, Dave decided to make a fairly sharp turn.  As he made the sharp turn, the generator shifted in the Winnebago and got free from its location in the Winnebago.  The generator hit the door, which proceeded to open up.  The generator went flying out of the Winnebago’s door and went tumbling around on the ground.  I believe, the generator started to pass us up. We quickly let Dave know to stop the Winnebago so we could stop the runaway generator.  Dave stopped the Winnebago and we were able run out of the Winnebago and stop the generator. However, the damage was done.  No matter how hard Dave & I tried, we could not get the generator to work.


I was so nervous that we damaged my Dad's generator.  I did not what I was going to say or do. I was sweating bullets.  What can you do when a runaway generate passes you up? 


This incident is one of many fun and exciting times one has when you are with Dave and his family.



By the way, Lionel did not get made that the generator was broken. Especially since Dave & I had this great story for all to hear and laugh about.  A generator with a mind of it's own and decided to run away.  Years later we still laugh about the generator. Thanks for the memories Dave!

Part 1 of 2 .  .  . 
Here is a true story regarding Dave Molina and the runaway generator . . . 

This story happened about 35 years ago.

I believe Dave and Xavier were part owners of a boat.  They wanted to share the boating experience with family and friends.  So one spring/summer day, they decided that they were going to take the boat up to Lake Success, which is near Porterville California. So the week prior to going up to Lake Success, plans were being made.  Who to invite? What to take? What to eat? Where will people sleep? 

Linda and Dave (Familia Molina), decided to ask the Irvine Family if they would be interested in going camping and boating up at Lake Success.  The number of people and Families turned out to be a big group.  The families invited and who were going were Dave & Linda and the girls (Rachael & Kris), Xavier's family, A friend of Xaviers and his family, Dave Fernandez & his wife, Gilbert & his wife, Ernie Ardallez and his family and Lionel, Joanne, Douglas and Andrew(myself). 

A couple of people had campers, while others had tents for their sleeping accommodations. The Irvine Family had a Winnebago Chief, which could sleep approximately 6 people. Gilbert had Old Betzy.  Ernie had a Minnie Winnie.

The day before the first group of people were to head up to Lake Success, Dave Molina, Lionel Irvine, Douglas Irvine and Andrew Irvine loaded a portable generator into Lionel's Winnebago.  The generator was put on wheels by Lionel Irvine to make it portable and easy to move around.  It was decided that Dave & I would be taking the Winnebago Chief up the day before the main group arrives to grab prime campsites.  

Omg...First of all I want to give my sincere condolences to you all I am so sorry for your loss...I have a story smh he was the craziest person....I remember one time when he took Rachele to pick up her check and the up above said get a signature I said ok how hard can this be well in walks Dave and Rachele and I told her I need a signature (they the higher ups were harassing her and Dave and I knew it) so Dave goes and says where's the check I looked at Rachele and she nods so I had Dave the check and he signs it and hands it back to me and I look at Rachele and Dave says well its signed dang I had to take a microscope out to read it and yes he signed Rachele name but dam it was so tiny tiny but it had her name...I looked at Dave and he said it's signed I just had to laugh and I said yeah it is...I never seen something like that but all three of us were laughing...He turned the tables on management cuz when I turn it in they looked at me and said what is this I looked and said it's signed and I handed them the microscope and they looked at it and couldn't say nothing cuz it was signed...Linda and Rachele it was an honor to have met Dave and I will never forget how funny he was we talked about our Caltrans war stories and had a few laughs before he and Rachele left...My heart hurts for all of you cuz you know he was a real and told it like it was didn't white wash anything and it's hard to find people like him these days...Dave I will see you on the otherwise and maybe we can have a few laughs together oh and don't give God to much trouble...Rest easy my friend...And watch over your love ones...Donna (Caltrans)

Ernest Holguin- I’m so sad to get the news of Dave , my friend and mentor since I was a kid . I’m 64 years at present and I use to live in Lincoln heights . He was my big brother at LA  time’s  boys club we use to play games and I use to win over him . He use to bring his GTO I believe it was Burgundy and park outside the boys club I enjoyed looking at his car and sometimes he use to give me a ride home. And we lost contact after he left for Vietnam. A few years back I got a call and he asked if I was Ernie Holguin who use to play at the boys club I was so happy to hear his voice and he came to see me in Moreno Valley, he came in his yellow hummer. We talked so much and noticed he was using crutches. I thanked him for everything he had done for me.in his last stages I called Linda and asked her to keep the phone close to his ears and I  thanked him for what I am today Even Dave is no more he will always be in my eyes and in my heart .to Linda and John we love you and we are still a family . The jeep I have I’ll treasure it  and  fix it and Dave will look down from Heaven and will be proud of me Eternal Rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him may he  rest  in peace 🙏🏼

It was so sad when Linda gave me the news about Dave leaving this world  I knew him only for a few years but my husband Ernie use to talk about him a lot . We went to see him  last year and  Linda made a delicious meal for us and when we said our good byes he whispered in my ear saying ‘ take care of Ernie ‘ that was his last words to me . Rest In Peace Dave  our prayers will be for you  Linda and John 🙏🏼

In June of 1991 Dave, Linda, Lionel & I [Joanne] took a trip in our Winnebago from LA to Dover, Delaware and back. Along the way we were visiting sites and visiting people.
As we were traveling Lionel would tell Linda to get her camera out so she can take pictures of the scenery & the rivers. So Linda took pictures. Linda took alot of river crossing pictures. Little did Linda know all the river pictures, it was of the same river. The Platte River.
When it came to stop for the night, we would stop at a KOA Kamp Ground. Upon stopping Linda & I would get a little snack prepared. When the snack was ready, Linda would ring the bell to come and eat the hordourvey's. Both Lionel & Dave just loved that and would ring the bell often.
Both Linda & Dave loved the green scenery. On occasions Linda would say the she saw blind horses. What are blind horses? They are horses with the blinders on, so they could not see off to their sides.
We stopped in Ohio to visit  relatives of the Irvine's and Dave had fun doing donuts on our daughter's front lawn. Just kidding. We did leave a couple of ruts in the grass, unfortunately.
As part of this trip, Dave & Linda headed into the Big Apple to visit Kris. They had a good time with Kris.
This trip was very memorable. Seeing Graceland, Niagara Falls, the Big Whole in the ground [the Grand Canyon], the Mississippi River, etc. Alot of memories were made on that trip.

My deepest sympathies for your loss. Dave was a good friend, always made me laugh. I know right now that he's up there with my sister and they're picking on each other with tons of laughs.

When I think of Dave and Linda, I smile and remember the laughter we shared -- two families forever joined by the love our girls have for each other. Their home is where love grew for others. 

I'm going to miss hearing your catch phrases like " candy is dandy but liquor is quicker" and my all time  favorite one was  at restaurant's leaving a tip telling a bad server "not to talk to strangers".  I love you man.  Rest in Peace I love you dad

Such a sweet , loving, caring, strong and funny man. He will definitely be remembered for his sense of humor. I’ve known the family and Dave for quite some time now. Every time I came to Linda and Dave’s, I would always feel a warm welcoming by Dave’s presence. I’ll always remember the little conversations we held together. Even tho we weren’t blood, he was a caring soul and would give me the best advice on life and and would always try point me in the right direction, whether it was was about life lessons/advice or pushing myself into getting back in school or in a better career path. I’ll never forget his contagious laugh and pleasant smile. He was a good man and I’m happy to have known him. My condolences go to Linda & the family. May god  be with you all in this time of need. Linda, my heart feels for you and I pray that God gives you peace & heals your sweet heart 🤍 You’re a STRONG and BEAUTIFUL Woman inside and out ✨May HE bless you ☝🏼🙏🏼 Love you all.

I met Dave and Linda many years ago. Such great people. Dave was always cracking jokes. I can still hear he’s laughter. He helped me out when I had car issues, offering to check under my hood. He wouldn’t take No for an answer. He always seemed so happy and full of love! Another memory was running into Dave and Linda at their bank. It must of been during football season because the bank had football helmets for the kids, well if you knew Dave he’s definitely a big kid at heart, he put the helmet on and sat there looking at me. He said “ aren’t you going to compliment me on my helmet?” I said, “ oh yes, what a big head you have!” Ha ha! I’m very sorry my friend for the loss of your Mr Chico! My sincere condolences to you and your family. Sending healing prayers and blessings to you all. RIP Dave. I know he’s cracking jokes up in Heaven. Thank you for your kindness.

The one memory of many I have of Dave was we went camping in the RV towing the boys jeep  to Glamis ( a four hour drive to the desert) So we arrived at around 2 a.m in Glamis Dave is driving I am the co pilot lol. So it's 2am we hit soft sand and you guess it !we get stuck! So we spend the night until morning and Dave.s friend Art use the jeep ( boys jeep) to free the RV from the soft sand ..Another memory  with Dave when we had horses (Maverick and Midnight star ) When Midnight star went wild and I yelled Heel! A 1,200 pound horse  running to me Big Mistake! The horse ran pass me.
And another memory was when David took me to the shooting area in Lancaster or Palmdale and my thumb got caught on the recoil and I started to faint and Dave race his way to my house and then my mother took me to the ER
