Donald Gaeron Martin

Don was born in Malakoff, Texas. He grew up in Needles, California from the time that he was 2 years old. He became a Christian at about the age of 5. He graduated from Needles High School in 1957 and graduated from California Baptist College (now University) in 1962. He married Mary Tucker on April 14, 1962. Together they had one son and one daughter. He worked mostly as a scheduler-expeditor in manufacturing. The last 13 years of his work career was as a bus driver for OmniTrans. He was an active member of Bryant Street Baptist Church serving with the choir and Sunday School. He was the most senior member in the American Christian Karate Association that met at his church. At the time of his death he was working on the requirements for his green belt.

Don was preceded in death by both parents, Harvey P. & Ruby E. Martin, one brother, Harvey E. Martin, and two sisters-in-law. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary E. Martin of Yucaipa, his son, Steve Martin of Yucaipa & his daughter, Cindy Barker (Rick) of Redlands. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, two great-grandsons, two brothers, one sister-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

Don is in Heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His body was cremated by Weaver Hughes Mortuary and will be interred at Desert Lawn Cemetery. Memorial Services will be held January 20, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Bryant Street Baptist Church in Yucaipa.
