Lonnie B. Whitaker

Lonnie B. Whitaker was born on June 25, 1956 in Hawthorne, Nevada to L. B. and Donnie Lee Whitaker. Lonnie was the fifth child of 9 children born to this union. Although Lonnie was born on June 25, his birthday was celebrated on July 7. In 1960, the family moved to Los Angeles, California where Lonnie attended school.

Lonnie accepted Jesus Christ as a teenager and was instrumental to young people knowing Jesus in our community, including his siblings. Lonnie had the ability to break down bible scriptures into language that his peers could understand. All who heard him speak marveled at his knowledge of the bible because he had no formal training.

Lonnie attended Family Life Church in Victorville, California. He also opted to feed hungry and help the homeless. Lonnie conducted bible study at his place of residence.

Lonnie was preceeded in death by his father, L. B. Whitaker, Son Wilfred Anthony, Brother Gregory, Sister Sheila Gail, and brother in law Donnie Colgate.

Lonnie Leaves to celebrate his life, his loving mother Donnie Whitaker (Aunt Joe), his daughter Wytasha, his grandchildren Lawrence and Jenia, his sisters, Dianne, Debra, Linda, and Gwen, his brothers John and Steven, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

We the family of Lonnie B. Whitaker thank you for your love and encouragement. We praise the Almighty God for our many friends and relatives, who although could not be here with us because of the climate of times, have been here spiritually and emotionally. The family would like to give a special shout out to granddaughter and niece La Donna Hill who was instrumental in this process.
