We are sad to hear that we have lost Michelle here on Earth. She always would show up to gatherings smiling and laughing. I know she lived in California, but when she visited the mid-west, she brought the sunshine with her. Sending hugs and comfort to our family that is far away right now -- we are keeping you close in thought!

I’m so sorry to hear of Michele’s passing.  She was so  kind and ready to offer a supportive word. I’m sorry I will be be able to attend her services. Praying for all who mourn her death….

To the family and friends of Michelle Villena,
My name is Ward Krause.  I was Michele’s 6th grade teacher at Mariposa Elementary School in Redlands. I was just informed by another member of that class of Michele’s passing.  Her passing kind of broke my heart because Michelle was a terrific student (so, so smart), a giving young lady, and a light in my life for that entire year!  
My youngest son was born that year.  I got the call at school that my wife was in labor, and I would need to leave.  I distinctly remember Michelle looking me in the eye telling me that she would make sure to fill the sub in on what needed to be done, and that I had nothing to worry about.  To this day I have not forgotten her maturity and thoughtfulness.  That was who she was!
Recently I was thumbing through photos of her class and paused to think about Michelle.  I wondered how her life had unfolded?  Then, less than a week later, I received this sad news, and knew I should have reached out to her a long time ago.  Life is full of regrets and highlights.  This was one of regret.
I will be unable to attend her service as I have health issues that make sitting, kneeling, and especially driving too difficult.  I will be thinking about her that day and hoping you all are remembering the life of a terrific human being!  It seems as if there is a lot of sad news in the world these days, including this very sad news, but thinking about the positive impact Michelle has made in our lives should govern our memories of her always!  My sincerest sympathies go out to you all today!
