Oliver Scott Andrews

July 20, 1972July 26, 2011

Yucaipa, California resident, Oliver Scott Andrews, 39, passed away July 26, 2011. Oliver was born July 20, 1972, in Mesa, Arizona, to Gerald and Lorraine Andrews. He is survived by his parents, his wife, Julie Morter-Andrews and his three siblings: twin sister, Cassaundra and older brothers, Gerald and Benjamin. Oliver was passionate about life. In each phase of his life he pursued and captured his goals. As a kid, there was no stopping Oliver from mastering Pong, jumping off the roof, or building a impenetrable fort out of sheets and sofa cushions. He was a super hero! Wonder Twin Powers ACTIVATE! As a teenager, he made it a goal to become a cyclist. To earn money to buy a professional bicycle and gear, Oliver worked a part-time job at the Tartan in Redlands. However, Oliver was never a person to wait around for a dream, aka he was impatient. He hounded his parents for the rest of the money and bought his yellow Raleigh touring bicycle. He trained and won 3rd place in a Redlands Bicycle Classic Race. After High School, Oliver wanted to do something with his life. At age 19, he joined the United States Army, became a light wheel mechanic and served in Desert Storm. During his service, he met his wonderful wife, Julie. They met and married in the same week. But don't mistake spontaneity for making fool hearty decisions. Even though he jumped in heart first, Oliver and Julie celebrated their 19th anniversary on July 25th. After his military service, Oliver earned his Computer Sciences degree from Crafton Hills College. He went on to become a Systems Analyst for San Bernardino County. Everyone who knew Oliver will miss his smile, his boisterous personality, his sarcastic sense of humor, his clear cut views on any topic, and his devotion to friends, family and country. We will especially miss him during the upcoming Presidential election and he will definitely be missed if the "zombie apocalypse" happens. Only Oliver would have had the ability to make us laugh during both situations. Visitation, Thursday, August 4, 2011, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Weaver Hughes Mortuary, 33629 Yucaipa Blvd, Yucaipa, California 92399. Graveside service, Friday, August 5, 2011, at 11:30 AM, Riverside National Cemetery, Staging Area #3, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, California 92518. Oliver's Family and Friends,
You are all in my thoughts. Andrew was one our IT guys at Central Public Defender's Office and will be greatly missed. I always looked forward to his humorous view of things -- who knew toner cartridges and computer servers could be funny! He was always kind and patient to those of us not so computer literate, an obvious example of his character. A true gentleman. My condolences to you all, especially his wife and family. I am so sorry for your loss.

Oliver was a co-worker of mine. I really liked his poker-face humor. He always made me laugh every time I spoke to him. After an unexpected change in position, I had the pleasure of working with his lovely wife, Julie in H.R. When she told me Oliver was her husband, my eyes lit up because I missed the P.D. She welcomed me so warmly & w/chocolate. :) Thank you for that. I'm glad to have met both of you. My heart aches for you Julie. I am so deeply sorry for your sudden loss. The P.D. will never be the same without him. God be with you & your family.

Oliver-you will be greatly missed. It's not every brother that would give his sister and her geeky friend rides home from high school when it was sooo uncool to be seen with siblings. I'll miss your fun facebook posts, even though I'm a democrat. Be at peace.

Oliver - the night this picture was taken you were with us in spirit, but we were missing your presence. Twenty years later, your RHS friends are all thinking of you and missing you again. You will live in our memories forever ...

Oliver, you will be sorely missed! I had the pleasure of supervising Oliver the last 5+ years and came to rely heavily upon him for his knowledge and ability. His humor and wit were a potent duo that kept me constantly laughing, and sometimes on edge. Julie, Melissa and I are so sorry for your loss. It's so hard to believe a light as bright as Oliver is gone from this world. He will not be forgotten.
