Peter Todd Temple

Peter grew up in Hawthorne, California, and attended Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, California. From early on, he carried a steady determination and a willingness to learn by doing—qualities that would remain hallmarks throughout his life.

Peter’s working life reflected both diligence and versatility. He first worked at parks and recreation centers in Hawthorne, California, then helped his uncles with their painting and plaster business. He went on to work in multiple machine shops with numerous companies, earning respect through consistent effort and capable hands. Later in life, he started his own painting business throughout Torrance and the South Bay areas, a path that spoke to his independence, work ethic, and the pride he took in doing a job well.

In the 1980’s, Peter met Terri Morrow, and they married later on in life. Their relationship was a meaningful part of his story, marked by devotion and the kind of steadfast care that anchors a family.

An outdoorsman at heart, Peter loved to fish and hunt, and he embraced the open air with a spirit of adventure. He brought warmth and good humor to the people around him, and his generosity showed not in grand gestures, but in the everyday ways he made time, lent a hand, and made others feel welcome.

Peter also loved working with tools—anything he could get his hands on—and he found particular joy in craftsmanship. Guitars were among his favorite things to make, a reflection of his patience, skill, and the quiet satisfaction he took in creating something lasting with his own hands.

He was deeply loved and will be missed by many of his family and friends. Peter’s life will be remembered with respect and gratitude, and he will remain cherished in the hearts of those who knew him.
