Ross was born on January 8, 1928, in Monessen, Pennsylvania to Salvatore and Candida Carlintonio DiGioia. Ross talked often of his happy childhood in Monessen, surrounded by his large Italian family. He served in the US Army, stationed in Panama. In 1947 he married the love of his life, Lois Hill, in New Orleans, LA. They lived in San Bernardino, CA and Rialto, CA, where they raised their family. After retiring, as a civilian employee, from Norton Air Force Base, he and Lois moved to Highland, CA.
Ross loved spending time in Utah. He built a summer home and hunting cabin in Koosharem, where he made many life-long friends. He enjoyed many happy years of camping, hunting and fishing there with family and friends. He especially enjoyed the poker games at the cafe.
Ross was a kind, loving man who was always the first one to lend a helping hand. There wasn't anything he couldn't build or fix.
