On Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019, Walter Alba Altmann passed away at the age of 89. Walter was born on May 24,1929 in Stuttgart, Germany to Emilie and Max Altmann. He lived a life full of adventure all over the world. Some of the places he called home over the years were Germany, Canada, Michigan, and many more in-between. His favorite place, and where he lived the majority of his life was in the hills of Hollywood, CA.
Walter was a passionate architect and studied with some of the greats of his time such as Minoru Yamasaki and John Lautner. You could always find Walter telling an interesting story followed by a hearty laugh with mischievous glint in his eye and a glass of wine in hand. He belonged to many organizations and enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies and interests.
Walter is survived by his wife Eva; daughter Ava; son Max and his wife Heather; granddaughter Jessica, her husband Bryan, and their son Emerson (Walter’s great-grandson); grandson Phillip and his fiancé Ashley.
