He was a proud veteran of the US Navy, serving in WWII. After the war, Andy went to work for Solar Turbine in San Diego, CA, where he met Nadine Anderson Soloman. They were married on Sept. 26, 1953 at Gretna Green Wedding Chapel in Yuma, AZ.
Andy retired from Solar Turbine after 42 years of service. Nadine brought two sons to their marriage and they had two more sons together. They were married 63 years. As a family, they enjoyed camping, hiking, and fishing in the Sierras for summer vacations.
Andy passed away on May 22, 2023. The eve of his beloved wife's birthday. Andy is survived by three sons; Richard Solomon (Donna), Curtis Brackeen (Trish), and Jim Brackeen (Kelly); 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Nadine, his parents, brother Bob Brackeen, sister Josephine Brackeen, and son Steve Solomon.
Inurnment services will be held at Glenn Abbey Memorial Park on Nov. 3rd, 2023 at 1:00PM. He will be laid to rest next to his beloved Nadine alongside his parents and sister.
