Apolonia Gutierrez, age 79, of Tacna, Arizona passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. Apolonia was born February 9, 1942 in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. Apolonia was a mother, a wife, and also found time to work on the family farm in Yuma County throughout the years.
Apolonia is survived by her husband, Daniel P. Gutierrez. She is also survived by her children; Angela Gutierrez of Dateland, AZ, Rigoberto Gutierrez of Phoenix, AZ, Marie Zaragoza of Yuma, AZ, Maria Gutierrez-Garcia of Phoenix, AZ, Daniel Gutierrez of Phoenix, AZ, Juanita Orellana of Phoenix, AZ, Eduardo Gutierrez of Dateland, AZ, and Alfredo Gutierrez of Dateland, AZ.
She is also survived by her three sisters, Maria Gonzalez, Preciliana Gonzales, and Cayetana Plascencia, all from California, and by her brother Gabriel Plascencia of Jalisco, Mexico. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
There will be a Wake for Apolonia on Friday, August 6th, from 5:00 o'clock PM until 8:00 o'clock PM at Johnson Mortuary Chapel, 1415 S. First Avenue in Yuma. A Rosary will be said at 6:30 o'clock PM.
A Funeral Mass will begin Saturday, August 7th, at 9:00 o'clock AM at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church, 8674 S. Avenue 36E in Wellton, AZ, with burial to follow at the Wellton Memorial Cemetery.
