Carl Erik Enockson
Born July 27, 1972
Erik was born 27 July 1972 to Karl Leif and Mary Louise Enockson at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance, California. He grew up in Manhattan Beach and attended Grandview Elementary and Center Middle School. He then attended Mira Costa High School and graduated in 1990. While at Mira Costa High School, Erik was a member of Boy Scout Troop 849 in Manhattan Beach and 1989 he attained the rank of Eagle Scout.
He then was accepted at the University of Southern California and graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in English Literature. He was then accepted at Willamette School of Law in Salem, Oregon and graduated in 1996 with a Juris Doctor (JD) degree. He next attended Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.
He worked in Prineville, Oregon as a Public Defender and also with the law firm of Dutli & Wilson for a few years. He then returned to California and was employed by the Glazer, Weil law firm in Century City, California.
Erik then moved to Yuma, Arizona in 2010 to help manage the business affairs of Double EE Enterprises, a family owned real estate holding company.
While he attended Mira Costa High School, he was a four-year member of the Mira Costa Mustang Marching Band. He also was member of the Torrance Area Youth Band (TAYB) for several years. When he was a freshman at USC he joined the Trojan Marching Band (TMB) and hefted the tuba for his four years at USC.
TMB traveled and performed extensively, aside from USC sporting events. His unending stories of the road trips and TMB antics brought tears of laughter to the whole family. Erik firmly believed that TMB was the world's greatest marching band.
While attending USC, he was affiliated with Theta Xi social fraternity and Phi Delta Phi law fraternity. He also was secretary of the Trojan Young Republicans and attended the National Republican Party Convention held in Washington, DC in 1994.
In 1985, the family was in Washington DC on vacation. It was Erik's 13th birthday and we had a celebratory dinner at the Kennedy Performing Arts Theater. The harpist treated us, and the guests to a beautiful rendition of Happy Birthday.
Erik's favorite season was Christmas. Throughout the year, he would gather prank gifts tailored to each family member. The gifts again, caused the whole family to roar with laughter. He had an exceptionally sharp wit and a keen sense of humor.
He recently received his ham radio license WX6XX following in the footsteps of his radio wizard uncle Arthur Enockson W6EA.
His parents, his sister, Dr. Gretchen Louise Janson (Rich), his niece Emma Louise Janson and his two nephews Matthew Allen Janson and William Enockson Janson will all miss his keen wit and exceptionally broad knowledge.
His grand parents predeceased Erik; long time Yumans, Carl (Swede) and Kathleen (Katie) Enockson.
A Celebration of Life will be held in California with family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations made in his honor to the Humane Society of Yuma (HSOY), 4050 S. Avenue 4-1/2 E, Yuma, AZ 85365.
