It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carmen Gonzales. Carmen peacefully departed this world on June 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family at home in Yuma, AZ.
Carmen was born on October 26, 1941, in Palms, NM, to Andres Chavez and Rufina Tapia. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Magin Gonzales, parents, and siblings Emily Romero, Celestino Chavez, Santiago Chavez, Cecelia Duran, Paul Chavez, and Jose de la Cruz Chavez. Carmen leaves behind her daughter Rachel and son-in-law Mark, and siblings Annie Chavez, Angie Garcia, and Manuel Chavez. She was a proud grandmother to Joseph (and his wife Tammy), Breanna, and Isabella.
Carmen's legacy extends to her great-grandchildren Kayla, Olivia, Violet, and Orlando, who brought endless joy to her later years.
In her leisure time, Carmen loved to create beautiful embroidery by hand, attend church, and talk regularly to family and friends on the phone.
As we bid farewell to Carmen, let us remember her with the same warmth and affection she shared. May she rest in eternal peace.
