Carol Ann Burks, 85, passes away on Sept 14, 2021 in Yuma, AZ. A beautiful and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Carol was born on October 10, 1935 in North Hollywood, CA to Wesley Eugene and Mary Frances Smith and moved to Wellton, AZ around the age of four where she resided until her passing.
She was married to her husband, Elvin Dean Burk, for 56 years until his passing in 2008. They had two children, Wesley (Scooter) and Debi. Carol wore many hats during her lifetime. Besides being a homemaker, seamstress, and business owner, she was a bookkeeper for Spencer and Spencer Citrus for twelve years and Amigo Farms for ten years. She was a very talented artisan, participating in several crafts fairs in Yuma and San Diego. Many of her creations still hang in homes of friends and family, and strangers alike.
Her Family was the most important thing in life to Carol. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wes and Frankie Smith, brother Bud Smith, sister Darlene Harris, husband Dean Burks, and son Wesley Burks. We will be eternally grateful to Hospice of Yuma for their stellar care and support.
Survivors include daughter Debi (Rick) Kelland, grandchildren Roxanne (Joey) Chavez, Justin Kelland, Valli (Rob) Williams, Jacey Burks, and eleven great-grandchildren Owen Chavez, Ava Chavez, Gabe Lopez, Gia Chavez, Ivy Chavez, Dallas Williams, Kay Chavez, Averi Williams, Ali Chavez, Cadence Williams, and Lea Chavez.
