Carol died in Tucson, Arizona, on Thursday, October 23, 2025- just a few weeks after celebrating her 92nd birthday. She was born in Yuma, Arizona, and graduated from Yuma Union High School in 1951. During her sophomore year, she was Captain of the five-girl bowling team that won the National American Bowling Championship.
Her professional career as an Executive Director of Chambers of Commerce began in Blythe, California, and included chambers in Chino, Corona, and Placentia, California. She was a graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute of Organization Management and held certificates in economic development from the University of Arizona and Sacramento State University. She retired in 2005 and moved to Oro Valley, Arizona.
We cherish our memories of Carol, mother of Curtis (Sharon) Gallo, Rachel (Jack) Morabito, Wesley (Mary) Gallo, and Keith Gallo. She was a grandmother of eight and a great-grandmother of six. She died on Thursday, October 23, 2025. She is also survived by her sisters, Lynn LaBrie and Susan Anderson, and brother-in-law, Dr. Leo Land. She enjoyed special friendships with eleven nephews and nieces. Carol was predeceased by her sister, JoAnn Land; her brother, Paul Beeler; and her parents, Roland and Lois Beeler.
We love how she brightened our lives. Her wisdom and kindness will be remembered by those who sought her counsel. She was most happy about leading friends and acquaintances to the Lord.
Carol enjoyed writing stories about her childhood, the miracles in her life, and has kept a personal journal since 1957. Her first children's story was published when she was 18. Her hobbies included storytelling, cooking, gardening, and sewing.
Her wish was to be buried in the Yuma Pioneer Cemetery, where her parents and her great-grandfather, John Horn, are buried.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
