

Charles E. "Chuck" Williams passed away on July 19, 2011, surrounded by his family. He was born October 6 in 1927 and grew up in Bloomfield, Stoddard Co., Missouri. He was the oldest son of Earnest E. Williams and Pearl Caldwell Williams.
Chuck was drafted in 1945 and served in the Philippines. After being rescued from a sinking land craft in the China Sea, Chuck was stationed to Yuma Test Station. Yuma is where he continued to make his home for the next 60+ years, meeting and marrying his partner of 58 years, Willene Evans.
Chuck started "Desert Deliveries" and "Yuma Process Service," both a first of its kind business for Yuma. Chuck worked as a Deputy Sheriff where in 1961 he established the "Search and Rescue Unit" to locate missing individuals. Chuck retired in 1989 after serving as a bailiff for Judge Helm for 12 years.
Chuck is survived by his wife: Willene, sons: Danny (Bonnie) and Rick, daughter: Teri Brooks (Paul Foy), 11 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers: Bob and Jerry Colbert, and sisters: Mary Lou Tawzer, Betty Einboden, Ruby Gillespie, Ruth Watley and Nancy Talbot, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest & Pearl Williams Colbert, his step-father, Ed Colbert, his step-brother, Allen Colbert, his brother, Eddie Williams and sister, Virginia Bare.
Services will be held at Johnson Mortuary on Sat. July 23, 2011 at 5:00 pm.
