Charlotte D. Apple passed away in Yuma, Arizona while visiting friends.
Charlotte was born in San Diego, California to Charlie Gilbert and Juanita Charlene Hill. Charlotte often mentioned she was born while the City of San Diego was under a blackout order due to the bombing of Pearl Harbor 12 days earlier.
In 1960 Charlotte was a graduate from Lincoln High School in San Diego, California.
Charlotte met her husband, Lloyd G. Apple, on a blind date. They were married on June 17th, 1961. They remained in San Diego for several years. Then together, with their two daughters, they moved to the Salinas Valley. After her children were grown, with families of their own, Charlotte took several nutrition classes at Hartnell College in Salinas, CA. After Lloyd's retirement they settled in Washington City, Utah. They were two months shy of their 52nd Wedding Anniversary when Lloyd passed away last year.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd G. Apple , and grandson, Brandon Phillips of Brigham City, UT. She is survived by her daughters Candi Swinscoe and Tammi Apple, both of Salinas, CA. Her grandchildren Derrick Wood of Queen Creek, AZ, Bill Anderson, Kimberlee and Katelynn McKay of Salinas, CA. Her great-grandchildren Kian and Shaylee Wood of Queen Creek, AZ, and Layla and Harmonee Phillips of Brigham City, UT. Charlotte was the youngest of two children and preceded in death by her dear sister Juanita Charlene Rodriguez.
There were no services per Charlotte's request. Prior to their passing, both Lloyd and Charlotte, requested their ashes be spread together at a location known to their daughters and dear to their hearts. Their final wishes will be completed in a small, private celebration of their life together.
