Henry David Blevins, known to most as David, passed away on June 24, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on December 28, 1956, in California, he spent most of his life in Yuma, Arizona, where he became a familiar face to many.
David worked as a plumber and maintenance man. He held jobs with the Department of Corrections, the Sheriff’s Department, Fort Yuma Indian Health, and several plumbing companies before working for himself. He liked being useful and used his skills wherever they were needed. Whether it was a leaky pipe or a project someone else had given up on, he showed up and got it done. He proudly served in the Army National Guard, including a deployment during Operation Desert Storm, and carried the values of that service with him for the rest of his life.
David had a sense of humor that was all his own — memorable to those who knew him. He was known for saying “I appreciate you” to people, and he truly meant it. He was a strong and encouraging man, a gentle giant who found joy in simple things: tending his garden, starting new projects, his coin collection, spending time out on his boat fishing, and caring for his animals. As a grandfather, he cherished his grandchildren and the time spent with them. David will be remembered fondly as a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him
