November 19, 1947 - September 7, 2025 Dean Burrow, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend passed away on September 7, 2025. Dean was born in Yuma, Arizona on November 19, 1947. He was a very kind and humble man, always offering to lend a helping hand. Dean loved to meet and welcome new friends. Dean instilled good values in his family, being looked at as a role model. He was a father figure, demonstrating how to protect, provide, and showing the importance of family. He always "showed up", creating memories, and he was a true example of selflessness.
Dean and his wife, Diane, met at Yuma High School in 1963 and dated until their marriage in 1968. They were happily together for 62 years, sharing their love with three beautiful daughters. They set an example for their children and grandchildren that unwavering love can conquer all.
Dean served as a police officer for 38 years. First starting his career as a patrolman, he climbed his way through the ranks retiring as Captain of the Yuma Police Department in 2006. Off duty, Dean would go to the fields to play softball with his friends. What once was a childhood game played with neighborhood kids in the streets, turned into him playing college baseball, traveling the nation and Canada, to playf softball, another game he adored. He continued loving the game, still partaking in it at the age of 77 and continued as an assistant coach for his travel slowpitch softball team until early 2025. Another one of Dean's hobbies was to watch old Westerns. His favorite was Gunsmoke, often poking fun of Chester.
Survived by his wife, Diane (Doten) Burrow, his three daughters and their husbands, Stephannie and Eric Gaines, Jennifer and Aaron Boeck, Sara and Richard Jacques, his grandchildren, Tanner, Travis, Zoiey, Jacob, Elijah, Abygail, Sophi and his siblings Thomas Nick Burrow and Linda Arviso.
