Derald Gene Kurth, 82, of Yuma, AZ, passed away on November 1, 2023. He was born on January 9, 1941, in Sidney, NE, to the late August and Viola Kurth. Derald was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Arvin Kurth, his sister Connie Buxbaum, his sister Pearl Leighty, and his daughter Brenda Jolliff.
Derald enjoyed working with his hands and had a passion for figuring out how things worked. He had a meticulous workshop area and loved making things run better. He was also known for being a sucker for "As Seen on TV" gadgets. Derald will be fondly remembered by his closest family members for his ingenuity and his dedication to his hobbies.
In his early working years, Derald served as a supervisor at an animal feed production company for over a decade. He then drove big rig semi-trucks for a short period before landing a job at Harbor Freight Tools. Derald ultimately retired as a store manager after eight years of employment.
Derald is survived by his loving wife, Jeannie Kurth, whom he married on November 23, 1994. He is also survived by his daughter, Loretta Gayman, his son, Michael Kurth, his stepdaughter, Wendy Rollings, his stepson, Jason Farris, his brother, Lyle Kurth, his sister, Marva Lee Smith, his brother, Howard Kurth, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Derald will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration.
Mr. Kurth's end-of-life wishes were for cremation, and there will be no funeral services held at this time. His ashes will be returned to his wife for keeping. Funeraria del Angel Kammann in Yuma, AZ, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
