I enjoyed Sandy’s stories about going to visit her Mom in Yuma and I knew I just really needed to meet this wonderful women.  I met Dorothy just a couple of months before she died. I am so glad I invited myself on one of Sandy’s trips to see her Mom.  I was amazed at her youthfulness. I admired the love Dorothy had for Sandy and Jordan. I also saw her sense of humor. Sandy showed me a picture of her Mom in a bikini. Her Mom made the bikini and was in her 50’s  and looked great.  Her room was filled with pictures and memories of her wonderful life. I enjoyed the stories going down memory lane and she must have had a a life full of love and happiness. 

Dorothy was a kind and wonderful person. She put up with all you crazies at ASU!  Sandy, you had a wonderful relationship with your mom.  That will be your saving grace. She is smiling down at you!  Rest in the loving arms of our Lord, Dot. You have gone home to Heaven  and I’m sure our Lord said “Well done, my daughter “.  

Dot ~ such a wonderful, kind, loving, funny, strong woman .....always with a big smile, and quick wit!  You were an awesome college mom to all of us.   I still have the shorts you made for me. I had mentioned once that I liked the shorts you made for Sandy, and next thing I know, I have some too!  It was always a joy when I got to see you, and such a blessing to have had you in my life....so many memories and Dot stories throughout the years that will always be near and dear to me!  Your legacy and wonderful heart and spirit shines brightly through Sandy and Jordan ~ like mother, like daughter and granddaughter!  Love you Dot!  You'll always have a very special place in my heart.

Dot, u were always a ray of sunshine and a joy in my life. Your cookies and mac n cheese got us thru our college days. Never will forget our big nite in the Riviera Vegas showroom when even Barry Manilow noticed you. It’s a blessing to have had you in my life and you are forever in my heart. Much Love. 

I loved Dot because she was mom and grandma to my dear friends Sandy and Jordan and because she loved to read books!  Our shared love of books gave us a connection that was a blessing for me. Dot shared names of books I should read or authors she thought were interesting. She sent  home little notes for me with book recommendations when Sandy visited her in Yuma.  I have copies of those notes I will always treasure.  Dot, you are dear in my heart. When I read, I remember you loved books too. 

When I think about my grandma not being on earth anymore my first thought was “she didn’t deserve to die” but in fact, she did. She deserves to live a live fully restored in Heaven in the arms of the father. She deserves to be reunited with my grandpa after almost 20 years. She deserves to have perfect eyesight again, to play tennis, go bowling, and do all the things she stopped being able to do that she loved. She deserves all the goodness of Heaven and all the love in her welcoming through the gates because during her time on earth all she did was Praise God and love people well. So when I think about her death I’m heartbroken because I’ll miss her physical being but that immediately turns into joy when I think of the party that was had in her honor as she entered the gates of the kingdom at 3:14 on November 14th. 🤍
