

Elda Helen Badilla at 79, passed away Friday, February 19, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born June 24, 1930.
Elda enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, cooking, baking, and most of all being with her family. She was a member at St. Francis of Assisi, she was a homemaker, steamstress and caregiver for her grandchildren. She graduated from Yuma High School in 1948.
Elda is survived by sons, Manuel Jr. (Sophie) Badilla of Yuma, Jesse (Avis) Badilla of Tucson, Arizona, Samuel (Ronni) Badilla of Cambridge, Nebraska, Joseph (Patty) Badilla of Yuma; daughters Victoria (Carlos) Rivera of San Antonio, Texas, Nancy (Joe) Espinoza of Yuma, sisters Gracie (Sammy) Gonzales of Rialto, California, Thelma (Jerry) Sharp of Yuma, brother Daniel (Patty) Madrill of Yuma; 20 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Elda is preceded in death by her father, Frank "Chico" Madrill; mother, Concepcion "Chona" Madrill; sisters, Barbara Madrill, Ida Flores, Sylvia Ramos, Catherine Madrill; brother Stephen Madrill.
Pallbearers are Billy, John, Adam, and Joseph Badilla. Joey Espinoza and Dan Janes. Honorary Pallbearers are Sergio, Ricky, Chris, and Carlos Rivera, Michael, Bernal, Andre and Adrian Badilla and Joe S. Espinoza.
A wake will be held at Johnson Mortuary on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00p.m. Funeral Mass will follow on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.

The wake is being held on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Johnson Mortuary from 5-9 p.m. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will start at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 10 a.m at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Yuma, Arizona. The interment will follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
