Elizabeth R. Palmer

Elizabeth Louise “Betty” Palmer, 92, of Yuma, Arizona, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026. After 27 years apart, her family takes comfort in imagining her reunited with the love of her life, her husband, Clarence Mortimer Palmer III (“Bud”), dancing hand-in-hand once again.

Betty was born on June 3, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, to Louis Benedict Roeser and Elizabeth Catherine Hannah Roeser. From an early age, she was known for her determination, strength of character, and generous heart. She never met a stranger and developed lifelong friendships wherever she went. Her kindness, warmth, and willingness to share her time and talents blessed countless lives.

Of all her roles, Betty treasured being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother most. She and Bud shared a remarkable love story and a marriage filled with devotion, laughter, and dancing. Together they created a home where family, friends, and neighbors were always welcome. Known as the “popsicle mom,” she opened her home and heart to generations of children, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

A talented homemaker and lifelong learner, Betty excelled at cooking, sewing, gardening, decorating, caring for others, and finding a way to master any skill she needed. She loved animals, loved serving others, and most of all loved her family.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Betty served faithfully in many callings, including Relief Society President, Young Women President, and Family History Director for more than 30 years. She was known as a woman of deep faith and prayer. Family and friends often turned to her when they needed prayers, comfort, and encouragement.

Betty is survived by her children: Dane and Danelle Palmer of Yuma, Arizona; Dot Jensen of Tremonton, Utah; Debby and Gary Bayles of Lewiston, Utah; and Deanne and Chuck Beshears of Gilbert, Arizona; along with 33 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and her sister-in-law, Marye Roeser of Coleville, California.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; her parents; her brother, Louis Benedict Roeser Jr.; and three great-grandchildren.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the members of the Del Oro Branch and Rancho Sereno Ward, the caregivers at Yuma Regional Hospital, Ridgeview Rehabilitation, Emerald Springs Senior Living, and the many friends who blessed Betty’s life with love and companionship.
