Esperanza "Hope" Derma

Born May 26, 1915 in Ysleta, Texas. Esperanza (Hope) Derma passed away peacefully after her long life of 101 years on July 4th 2016.

She is survived by her sons, Ricardo (Cynthia) Derma, Raymundo (Sally) Derma both of Imperial, California; Daughter, Rose Bouts and Son Reynaldo Derma, both of Winterhaven, California; 20 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren. Esperanza is predeceased in death by her husband, Joe, daughter, Maria Louisa Martinez, sons Joe E. Derma and Roberto Derma.

Esperanza, her four sisters and two brothers enjoyed their time on the ranch at Waco Tanks outside Ysleta, Texas which was owned by her parents. In 1935 she married Joe then in 1953, they moved to the Bard area where they ran a hay hauling business for 35 plus years.

Esperanza was an excellent cook, fantastic Mom, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-great Grandmother and one of the best friends you ever knew. Mom put joy and Love in our hearts; she will be missed forever but never forgotten. We Love You Mom.

Pallbearers include, Ricardo, Raymundo, Reynaldo Derma, Rose Bouts, Rose Mary Hernandez, Joe Derma and Mona Pablo.

Honorary Pallbearers, Ladd III, Christopher Isaih, Alex Bouts, Greg, Angelo Derma, Danny Derma, Ray David, Simon Derma, Ramona L. Derma, Ernie Derma, Arsenio Derma, John Paul, Andrew, Michael, Sammie Hernandez.

Viewing will be at Johnson Mortuary, Wednesday July 13th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Rosary will be at 6:00 pm.

Mass will be at St. Thomas Mission on Thursday July 14th at 10:00 am with Father Rusty Duncan officiating and burial will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Yuma, Arizona.
