I had Frances had a teacher in 1978. I was part of her Bachelor Survival Course. Later she became a friend and I always enjoyed running into her. She was truly a GREAT lady....

I met Frances through my cousin, Robert Ochoa. She was so wonderful to my cousin and my aunt, Beatrice Avila. I was fortunate to spend time with her on my own--we laughed and laughed.  She was one of a kind--dear and compassionate.  God Bless her.

Rest in Peace Francis....you were one of the best!  To her family...we loved having Francis as a teacher in San Luis because she was awesome in the classroom and she genuinely loved kids.  I am blessed to have known such a kind soul.

I was so fortunate to have Ms. Fitzgerald not only as a teacher, but a mentor during my teenage pregnancy during high school.  We kept in touch during the years - she was always there for me and I will forever hold her memories in my heart.  Ms. Fitz - you will be deeply missed.  Luv ya!

Feeling so very blessed to not only have had Ms. Fitzgerald as one of my (favorite) teachers at Yuma High, but as one of my Cursillo sisters in Christ. Reading of her passing left me feeling sad for me, but happy for her because I know how much she loves our Lord ... and did she ever serve him well! De Colores my dear Frances!

It was THE BEST preschool experience for them, where the teens were the teachers, coached by Frances, who liked to call herself "the principal".  One of my favorite pictures of my youngest, Lindsay, is of her at the playschool, in her newspaper hat, sucker in her mouth, cheek to cheek with her beloved "Fitz-Miss-Gerald".

Sincerest condolences to the family of Ms. Fitzgerald. I was fortunate to be in her child developement class in 1991.  She was one of a few teachers that were instrumental to my youth and I will always remember her dearly.

The news of Ms. Fitzgerald passing away is saddening.  She was my home ec. teacher at YHS for my fresh and soph year. Very wonderful lady, great personality, she will never be forgotten. Class of '97

Ms. Fitzgerald was my teacher, senior year (1994) at Yuma High. I have fond and dear memories of her. I will never forget her inspiring and encouraging words...especially when it came to "boys". She would always tell us... "A woman needs a man like a goldfish needs a bike." You were a great teacher; you touched my life, made me see things in a different prespective. May you rest in peace.

I'm so sad to hear that Ms. Fitzgerald has passed away. I wasn't one of the lucky ones to have her as a teacher, but I was lucky to get to know her as an adult. She ALWAYS had a huge smile and she was full of SPUNK!!! Her laughter and charisma were infectious!!! I will never forget her! She is in Peace with the Lord!! YHS '86
