Gilberto Garcia Morales

Gilberto Garcia Morales, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on October 21, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on January 16, 1961, in Mezquite Gordo, Michoacán, Mexico, Gilberto was a cherished member of his community.

Residing in Yuma, Arizona, Gilberto was known for his warmth and dedication to his family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A viewing will be held at Johnson Mortuary Chapel, located at 1415 S. First Avenue, Yuma, Arizona, on October 26, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. During this time, the Recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place from 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm.

A mass will be held at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, situated at 1815 S. 8th Avenue, Yuma, Arizona, on October 27, 2025, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.

Gilberto's memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

It is with great sadness that we share the loss of Gilberto Garcia Morales, an amazing brother, a joyful father, and a devoted and loving husband. He is survived by his wife, his daughter and son, his three grandchildren, his five siblings, and his many friends and loved ones.

An inimitable spirit, he raised a loving family, started his own trucking business, gave countless hours of service to his community and loved life to its fullest. He was immortalized for his passionate love of American football from his time as a Buitre de la Narro (UAAAN), and remains honored in the Mexican National American Football hall of fame. He leaves behind a legacy of love and adoration in all he met.

The agricultural engineer, the football capitán, the truck driver, the brother, the Lito Bonito, the compadre, the devoted husband, the Immortal—his legacy is marked in the tears of those who mourn him, and in the joy of having known him.

He rests now with his beloved ancestors, and has returned to the Glory of God.

A viewing and rosary will occur on Sunday, October 26th, at Johnson’s mortuary from 6-9pm. A devout Catholic, he will rest in the Lord's presence at Monday mass, October 27th, at 10:30am, in St. Francis of Assisi.

Con profunda triste compartimos la partida de Gilberto García Morales, dedicado y querido esposo, excepcional padre y gran hermano. Su ausencia deja un vacío inmenso en el corazón de su esposa, dos hijos, tres nietos, cinco hermanos e innumerables amigos y seres queridos que lo admiraron y amaron.

Gilberto fue un espíritu inimitable, formó una familia profundamente unida, emprendió su propio negocio de transporte por tráiler y dedicó incontables horas de servicio a su comunidad. Amo su vida con intensidad y gratitud. Fue inmortalizado por su dedicación, pasión, y gran talento en el futbol Americano como Buitre de la Narro (UAAAN), y su nombre permanece en el Salón de la fama Nacional del futbol americano de Coahuila, en México.

Ingeniero forestal, capitán de futbol, troquero, hermano, Lito Bonito, compadre, devoto esposo — el Inmortal. Su legado queda marcado en las lágrimas de quienes lo extrañan, y en la alegría de quienes tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.

Hoy descansa regresado a la Gloria y la Luz de Dios donde su alma brilla eternamente en La Paz divina, su viaje terrenal a concluido pero su presencia perdura en cada recuerdo, en cada corazón que lo ama.

Los servicios funerarios se llevarán acabo el domingo, 26 de octubre, de 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm en Johnson’s Mortuary. La misa de cuerpo presente será el lunes, 27 de octubre a las 10:30 am en la iglesia St Francis of Assisi, donde descansará finalmente en la gloria del señor.
