Gloria Avila Green, 90, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 of natural causes. She was born December 22, 1923 in Yuma, AZ. She graduated from Yuma High School. Gloria was a retired Bookkeeper/Accountant from Hinkle and Perius CPA. She was a member of Catholic Daughters and DES/DDD Human Rights and Ethics Committee. Gloria loved to read, travel and was an avid crossword puzzler.
Gloria is survived by her son, James Del (Susan) of Yuma; daughters, Victoria L. Morga (Francisco) of Wellton, Julia Valdez (Fred) of Yuma; brother, Rudolph V. Avila of Yuma; sister, Ramona O. Peterson of Yuma; grandchildren, James M. Green of Yuma, Melissa A. Green of Las Vegas, NV, Alejandro Morga of Yuma, Vanessa Morga of Durham, NC; 2 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gloria was preceded in death by her spouse, James C. Green.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2014 with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Johnson Mortuary, 1415 S. 1st Avenue, Yuma. Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 with Father Chris Orendorff officiating at St. Francis Catholic Church, 1815 S. 8 th Avenue, Yuma.
Pallbearers: Rachael Nickle, Laura Murphy, Rebecca Loroña, Sherri Wayman, James M. Green, Melissa A. Green, and Alejandro Morga. Honorary Pallbearers: Miriam Garcia, Angelica Garcia, Karla Garcia, Carolina Orta, and Adrianna Epinoza.
