He graduated from Knox College in 1954 and Northwestern University Dental School in 1958. Jim served in the Navy from 1958 to 1971 aboard the USS Pine Island and USS Proteus (AS-19) including Vietnam. He opened his dental practice in Yuma in 1971, practicing until his retirement in 2002.
Jim had a passion for fishing, photography, and model airplanes winning the International Model Airplane Championship in 1952. He was a loving dad and grandpa who was always there for us. He will be greatly missed.
Jim was the beloved husband of Clare, his wife of 61 years and is survived by his daughters, Susan (Bob) Clark and Sarah (Marc) Stein; and grandchildren, Chelsea, Madeline, & Hannah Clark, and Michael & Sophie Stein.
He is predeceased by his parents Dr. Stephen L. and Jessie Casper, and brother Robert Casper.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jim's memory to Wounded Warriors or the Yuma Humane Society. A private celebration of life will be held in San Diego.
