He married his college sweetheart, Wilma, in 1956.
Joseph is survived by his wife, their 4 children John, Scott, Kevin and Kim, 14 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 5 siblings.
Joseph earned his Doctor of Educational Administration from NAU and worked for many years as a Vocational Ed high school teacher at Kofa High, coached various sports, and was a Yuma High and Yuma Lutheran School administrator. He was also a prominent local business owner, who had a kind heart and a gentle spirit.
Joseph was an avid outdoors man who loved to hunt and camp. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Joseph was a faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church for more than 55 years, and volunteered to aide in several church building projects.
In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family requests donations made to Monte Sion Church to go towards the starting of his son's new Christian school in Mexico.
