

Kathleen L. Hixon, 66, of Yuma, Arizona, died peacefully among friends at her home in Yuma. She was born in Santa Monica, California to Louise and Lester Hixon. She joined two step brothers, Lester Jr. and Randy in the family. The Hixon's moved to Yuma in 1955, where Lester became a home builder for 20 years. Kathy was always a bright enthusiastic member of the family. She proceeded through school, graduating from KOFA High in 1971.
She worked at Achieve W.O.R.C for 30+ years. She participated in Special Olympics, winning medals over several years. She joined Christ Lutheran Church in 1996 and enjoyed being a greeter on Sunday morning.
She is already missed by her guardians, Bill Esmeier and Betty Furtwangler. She also leaves behind step brother, Randy Hixon; niece, Sheila Fitzgerald; nephew, David Hixon; cousin, Beverly Jones and several "shirt tailed" brothers and sisters, Becky, Roy, Bill & Penny, Jan, Marsha and many friends from the church, W.O.R.C, etc.

On Thursday, May 12th, Pastor Harman will conduct a "Celebration of Life" services at Christ Lutheran Church in 2600 Block of Engler Avenue. Viewing will start at 9:45 am with services beginning at 11 am.
Lunch will be served in the Family Life Center after the service.
