Kathleen was doing farm work at seven years old. She excelled in school and was hired right out of high school to work at OPA during the war, within two years she was in charge of the office. She married Clifton in 1945 and had 67 wonderful years. Her long history of farm work made her and Clif a great match.
As Clif moved up in his career, they traveled the world, often in conjunction with Clif’s job in agriculture. They organized and led agricultural tours around the world. Kathleen started over whenever they moved and always promoted up in every position because of her intelligence and work ethic. She was the secretary to a Colonel in San Francisco. Then they moved back to Washington, where she worked for a project manager and was in charge of 900 workers. Kathleen worked as an assistant to a WA state senator. They finally retired in Yuma to be near the crop lands that they loved. After retirement they continued to travel.
She was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Alice (Frank) Loe; brother, Harold Loe; and her beloved Clifton. She is survived by her sisters Mildred Laughlin and Dorothy Stewart (Wilbur), sister-in-law Norma Loe; step-son, Thomas Nielsen; many nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Bruce and Mary Jackson.
Thank you to the staff and friends at Emerald Springs; members of her bible study group and PEO; and Dr. Darren C. Hawkins and her church friends. Contributions may be given to Sierra Vista Presbyterian or a charity of your choice.
A memorial service will be at the Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church on March 21, 2016, at 2:00 p.m.
