Lawrence Q. Miranda, 60, of Yuma, AZ passed away on December 16th, 2024, in Phoenix, AZ. Son of Helen Quijada and Paul Miranda, Larry was born September 17th, 1964, in Yuma, AZ; being the youngest son, 5th out of 6 children.
Having become a proud Yuma High Criminal alumnus in 1982, Larry went on to get his Associates of Arts degree from the University of Phoenix. After proudly accomplishing his goal of getting his CDL, a majority of Larry’s adult life was spent driving behind the wheel, whether it was a semi-truck, his motorcycle, the family SUV or one of his project rides, he was always on the move to his next adventure.
In 1999, Larry met the love of his life, Patricia, whom he married in 2000 to become a loving father to their 4 children: Jessica Sandoval, Mireya Rodriguez, Melody Brown and Anthony R. Miranda, then grandfather to Lucia Patricia-Monroe Rodriguez, Jimmy Lawrence Rodriguez and Marisela Avery Brown.
Larry was a deeply beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones laughing, sharing stories, jokes about his life and adventures as he always wanted and hoped it would be. While we lost our most beloved husband and dad, many lost a friend and loved one in him. Larry was a rock to many with his sarcastic humor and protective warm nature.
Larry was a diehard Minnesota Viking fan, he had a huge love for music some of his favorite genres were Tejano, Lowrider oldies and Reggae. You’d normally find Larry outdoors, either working on his yard, out for a cruise or his back patio sky gazing while listening to music. Larry was an adventurer, he’d plan countless family trips each equally unforgettable, and most done in spur of the moment, but his most favorite adventures were spent at family gatherings, carne asada cooking, music playing and filled with laughter.
As a pillar of strength and a beacon of love, his absence leaves a deep void in our hearts. To commemorate his remarkable life and the memories we cherish, services will be held on January 3rd & 4th. We welcome all who knew him to join us in celebrating the life of a man who was loved deeply and will be missed. We will always carry his memory in our hearts.
Our Angel Larry didn’t tell us how to live, he lived. And let us watch him do it.
Lyrics from one of Larry’s favorite songs:
"Every day love me your own special way, Melt all my heart away with a smile, Take time to tell me you really care, and we'll share tomorrow together I'll always love you forever, forever"
When you asked Larry what he was, he would say this: "I ain’t white, I ain’t black, I’m in the middle and I’m just right. I’m Chicano!"
