Celia Osuna passed away with extraordinary peace and grace and in the embrace of family on February 23, 2019. Celia was born in Rosario, Sinaloa Mexico in 1932 and was one of four children of Secundina and Jesus Herrera. Celia met Jacinto Osuna when she was 15, and they later married and raised a family. Together Celia and Jacinto raised five children (Jesus Antonio (“Chuy”), Manuel, Norma, Maria Elena (“Nena”), and Catalina), and in 1978 they moved to Yuma, AZ where Jacinto worked as a contractor and Celia managed the home in addition to taking on jobs as needed to support her family. Celia and Jacinto each became naturalized US citizens in 1998, for which they were both grateful and proud. Celia lost Jacinto in 2000 after 52 years of marriage, and relocated to Tucson in 2009 to live with Catalina and her family. Celia is survived by her son Manuel, and her daughters Norma, Nena and Catalina; by 17 grandchildren; and by many great-grandchildren and extended family. Celia was a woman of profound Faith and passion for life, and she found joy in many things, especially music, dancing, basketball, novelas, her dogs, her garden, and above all, family.
