

Lorenza (Lencha) F. Contreras, 93, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 12, 2012, in Chandler, AZ. She was born August 11, 1919 in Turner, Kansas.
Lencha's employment history includes S.H. Kress, Yuma County Elections, Chretin's, and she retired from Yuma Elementary School District. She was a member of the Guadalupanas. She graduated Yuma High School and enjoyed crocheting.
Lencha is survived by her sons, Panfilo (Marty), Richard (Connie), David (deceased) Mary, Larry (Emerald), Steven (Lupe), Michael (Debbie), Christopher (Sandy); brother, Richard (Stella) Hernandez; sisters, Toni Ayala, Mary Guinta, Lola (Jack) Holton, and Delfina Nunez, as well as 40 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Panfilo M. Contreras; son, David G. Contreras; parents, Jenaro and Candelaria Hernandez; sisters, Petra Santini and Celia Gomez; brothers, Albert and Jenaro Hernandez; daughter-in-law, Pearl Contreras; great-granddaughter, Angelica Contreras; great-grandson, Brian Lopez.
A wake will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Friday, August 17, 2012, at Johnson Mortuary with a Rosary at 7:30 P.M. A funeral mass will be held at 9:00 A.M. Saturday, August 18, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Church. Her final resting place will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Panfilo Contreras, Richard Contreras, David Contreras Jr., Larry Contreras, Steven Contreras, Michael Contreras, Christopher Contreras. Memorial donations can be made to Phoenix Hospice of the Valley, or National Kidney Foundation of Arizona.
