She was a strong woman who endured so much throughout her life, yet she never lost her caring and giving heart. She will always be remembered for her strong character, her generous spirit, and, most of all, that unforgettable laugh that could carry through the entire household.
Nellie was our rock. We will always remember her demanding ice water, her love of disco nights, her “crush” on Charlie Sheen, and the moments that made our family laugh and smile. Her presence brought strength, love, and memories that will remain with us forever.
Nellie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Wayne Swayze; her daughter, Rachael Larson (Steve) and her son, Gabino Quiroz.
She is survived by her daughters, Theresa Stevens (Thomas), Virginia Quiroz (Ruben Amaya), Rose Perez, and Victoria Quiroz Cobian (Emmanuel); and her son, Ruben G. Quiroz.
She leaves behind nine grandchildren: David Ford (Rasta, Ruben, Nautani, Michael, Jeanie, and Isabel); Christopher Ford (Sophia, April, and Vincent); Matthew Ford (Jeremy, Connor, and Kaileigh); Ryan Larson; Corey Larson; Sabrina Nerva (Nathalie, Alma, and Penelope); Anthony Perez (Axton, Archer, Alijah, and Winter); Adan Perez; and Gabriella Amaya. She has 19 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the love, strength, laughter, and memories Nellie gave us. She will forever be a part of our family and will never be forgotten.
Rest peacefully, Mom! We will always carry you in our hearts.
