

Mary was born March 19, 1925 in Cardston, Alberta Canada to Ephriam Earl Haslam and Esther Johanna Victoria Kjelin. Ester and Ehpriam divorced in 1929 and Ester moved back to her mother's home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Ester Married Joseph Peril Cox in 1931. Mary and her brother Verlin took the Cox last name and the family was sealed at the LDS temple in Logan, Utah. The Cox family sold their farm in Idaho and moved to the Kittitas Valley in Washington State and continued farming in the Denmark area. Mary graduated from Kittitas High School in 1943 and married Francis Fudge Johnson in 1944. Mary and Fudge had four children; Vicky Irene Eggum, Francis Wayne Johnson, Karen Colleen Zittel (George), and Lyn Allan Johnson (Mary). Mary divorced Fudge in 1964 and married Howard Bond Hubbard in 1966. In 1969 Mary and Howard adopted a son Joseph Bond Hubbard (Tracey).
Mary graduated from beauty school and worked for many years as a hair dresser. Mary and Howard started a masonry company (Bond Masonry) and a beauty shop (Mary's Bond of Beauty) in Ellensburg, Washington. Mary and Howard moved to Portland, Oregon to be closer to Howard's masonry work and they lived in the Portland area for 14 years. Mary and Howard moved to Yakima, Washington in the early 1980s and they began to travel for pleasure extensively. They enjoyed their motor home trips and on one of their adventures they traveled to Yuma, Arizona with friends. Mary and Howard loved the Yuma area and they decided to move to Yuma in 1995.
Mary was very active in a number of women's clubs including; Washington Homemaker's Club, Yuma Women's Club, and the Yuma Newcomber's Club. Mary continued to make Yuma her home until her death.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Howard. Mary is survived by her siblings Twyla Pittsinger (Harry) and Joseph Lamar Cox (Joy) as well as her five children Vicky, Wayne, Karen, Lyn, and Joe. Mary is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. Mary is additionally survived by two step children Thomas Nelson Hubbard (Elaine) and Debi Ray Freund (Phil).
Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Foothills Ward, on Saturday January 14 at 11am with a viewing from 10am to 11am. Following the service there will be a lunch for those that wish to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's name to Crossroads Mission
