Mary Jane Allen (Lytle) beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and dear friend passed away on Monday, February 3, 2014. Born in Birmingham, Alabama March 7, 1937 to W.M. and Lottie Lytle, she graduated from Woodlawn High School class of '55 and married her high school sweetheart, William H. Allen, Jr. Together as Marine & officer's wife they raised three children: Billy Allen (Ciline) of Phoenix, Teri Ingram (Chris) of Yuma and LeeAnn May of Ft. Worth.
Mary Jane worked her way up from bookkeeper to general manager of Desert Lawn Memorial Park. Throughout her life, and especially since her retirement she has been actively involved in service organizations including the Lady Elks, the Lions Club and P.E.O Sisterhood where she served as chapter president from '11-'13. She was also an active member of Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder and Deacon.
She is preceded in death by her husband William H. Allen, Jr.; her parents W.M. and Lottie Lytle; her brothers and sisters and her grandson Patrick William Allen.
Mary Jane is survived by her 3 children, 2 granddaughters, Amber Palladino of Phoenix and Courtney May of Ft. Worth as well as her 3 great grandchildren Patrick Allen Jr., Brady and Isabella Palladino. Mary Jane was loved by numerous nieces and nephews and sister-in-laws Martha Lytle and Margaret Wright.
Church services will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014 at Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church, 150 W 28th St, Yuma, AZ. Visitation from 9:30am to 11:00am, funeral service at 11:00am with internment to follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. A luncheon in Mary Jane's honor will then be held at Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church.
