

Michael proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam veteran. He was awarded the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal. Following his honorable discharge, he continued his career at the U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground as a heavy-duty mechanic.
Mikey loved the desert and made Yuma his home for nearly 50 years. Known for his outgoing nature, Michael had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. He loved rock and roll and could sing along to countless hits from the ’60s and ’70s. He was a free spirit with a colorful sense of humor and a deep appreciation for art. A talented and prolific artist with an eye for detail, Mikey told stories through his drawings and paintings. Many of his works reflected his love of the West, horses, and Native American culture. He signed his artwork under the name “Sundance.”
Michael is survived by his brother, Stephen Ellsworth Randall (Jeanette), his sister, Nancy Belle Randall, and his nieces Amy Harnishfeger and Ingrid Mynatt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Ellsworth Randall and Marian Louise Walton.
