I found out about Norm's passing, my prayers are with the family. I worked with him at BCBSM in Southfield , he keep me on my toes always.

Deepest sympathy for your great loss. Norm was one of my nursing supervisors at BCBSM. He was a very kind , gentle and a highly respected man. He was unselfish. His team had encouraged all the nursing staff during difficult and changing times at BCBSM.

You would be hard-pressed to find someone who knew my dad who didn't have anything nice to say about him. He was just that kind of guy. He was kind, he was friendly, he was helpful. He never complained. He had plenty of reasons to, but he never did. He could fix just about anything. He was a hard-worker and he was devoted to his family. He loved playing with children-especially his grandkids.
If you needed him, he would come to help you. It didn't matter if he was busy, or didn't feel like it, or was sick. Everyone could tell a story about a time he helped them. I have a million of them. When I decided to move out here to Arizona, my dad flew in to Atlanta to help me finish cleaning my condo and drive with me across the country so I wouldn't have to do it alone. I was really stressed out when he arrived, trying to get my condo ready to have someone move in, cleaning, painting, doing little upkeep things. I freely admit that I was not the most pleasant to be around, but he didn't complain. He just stepped up and asked me what needed to be done. After three days of finishing things up, it was time to make the long drive from Atlanta to Arizona and he was there with me. Of course, the day we left was the day the South was hit with a freak ice storm and we were keeping just ahead of the worst of it. The highways were being shut-down right behind us and I got scared because it was really icy, but my dad just took over the driving, acting like everything would be fine. He later admitted that he was a little nervous but he never let on-he just did what needed to be done and at that moment, I needed him to drive. We had two more days of driving (fortunately with good weather) and I wish I could remember what we talked about, but I am grateful for that time I had with him.
My dad loved life and was willing to do whatever it took, no matter how painful or inconvenient, to keep on living. I asked him before, how do you keep going when you are tired or when you don't feel good. And he said, You just push yourself and keep pushing until you have done what you need to. So when I think about how I am going to get through this-how I am going to deal with losing this wonderful father of mine, I am trying to remember that I need to keep pushing-just like he did. I can hear him telling me-take care of your mom, take care of your sister and the boys. And I will. Not as well as him, but I will do my best. And for him, he doesn't have to push himself anymore. I hope he is in heaven, enjoying himself and (you know he won't just be sitting there relaxing) cooking up some French toast and fried potatoes for his mom and dad, and anyone else who wants breakfast.
     Dew, I love you and miss you more than I even thought possible.

Norm was in my study group in nursing school. Am very happy that Jennifer moved to AZ a few years ago, and Norm and Lynn followed. We were able to get together for lunch when his doctor was in the Phoenix area. Will miss you my friend, but know you are in a better place, out of pain and suffering. The Fosters lived next to my family for 30 years and Kim was my best friend.  I spent at least as much time at the Foster's house as my own, and I knew all the cousins and aunts and uncles.

To say the Campagna family mourns for the loss of Norm Foster is an understatement.  We love you Lynne, Kim and Jenny.

Rest in peace, Cuz. Thank you for always being so gentle and kind to your little cousin when we were growing up. Love you, Susan

Dad, 

It's so hard to know I will never be able to see you anymore. You have been the bravest, kindest, person ever. You didn't complain and fought until the very end. You always took care of other people (co-workers,  neighbors,  family, etc) You knew family was always so important and were an awesome dad. Then a super duper grandpa. Your grandkids would light up your life, even at the very end.  Seeing you suffer was unbearable,  but you didn't complain.  And even at the end, you worried about taking care of us and wanted things ready. You KNEW!  It is so painful not to have you, but it makes me so happy that everyone has good memories of you. You were just nice to everyone.  You would go out of your way to help!! You were a funny guy and loved to kid around. I'll miss that about you a lot. You were not too graceful and it made for funny stories. You broke your arm hopping the fence in the backyard. You cut your hand after slicing a bagel and needed to go to the ER. You cut your leg deeply with a weed whacker. But it never stopped you. You also had the "FOSTER LUCK" which was the opposite of lucky. If there was a small chance of something bad happening,  it happened to YOU. It was funny at times, but horrible too. I have the best memories staying up late watching Benny Hill with you, go bowling Saturday mornings with you, camping memories,  school field trips where you chaperoned, making popcorn, holidays, Sundays at grandma's, my wedding, seeing my kids' births, playing with grandkids. THE LIST IS ENDLESS. I don't want to say goodbye,  but seeing you suffer was the worst feeling in the world. I have the best angel watching me, but the pain of losing you hurts. You are the best, dad!! I love you .

We will always remember Norm as gentle and funny. We've missed him as our neighbor for several years, and now in our hearts miss him even more. We are thinking of Lynne and Jenny and Kim with love.

Having worked with Norm at BCBSM, I can say he was one of the kindest men I have ever met. His friendly disposition, quirky sense of humor and wealth of knowledge made knowing him an absolute pleasure. You should be proud to know the impact your dad/grandfather/husband had on all who knew him. Rest in peace Norm.

Butch you will be missed.I remember  when you came and stayed with us in Florida,We had a great time.Me and dad were just looking at pictures from that time..Only good memories..:) Say hello to all the family in heaven for me..

I'm sorry for the passing of Norm. I worked with him at BCBSM as well. He was very bright, kind and fun. Will always miss him.

I had the opportunity of working with Norm at BCBSM and I can honestly say he was such a pleasure to work with because he was one of the kindest men I have met.  He was easy going and thoughtful.  I will never forget him or his kindness.

My brother, my friend.  He will always be "Butch" to me.  I'm so glad I got to see him recently and am devastated by his passing.  Bless his wife and daughters who have stood with him during the years he battled his nemesis and who made life much more bearable for him. 
Though we have been separated by the miles for many years he has always been, and will always be, in my thoughts.  I will miss him dearly.

I will always remember Mr. Foster for making the best popcorn!  Many times when I was at his home as a teenager, spending time with Kim, I would whisper to her, "Will your dad make popcorn?"  And amazingly several minutes later you would hear the popping coming from the kitchen.

Mr. Foster was a wonderful man and raised a daughter who has been a life long friend.

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember your dad picking you up from Western Jenny always with a smile on his face. He was so sweet and loving. The patience he had was amazing.

I worked with Norm at BCBSM. Norm was a wonderful man and supervisor. He was very  patient and approachable. My prayers go out to his family. RIP Norm.

Had not heard about Norm for some time. He was my team leader at BCBSM also. he was a very fair and kind gentleman and a pleasure to work for. he will be missed.

Norm was a remarkable man. I worked with Norm at BCBSM he was our Team Leader. He had a tough job working with mostly women but we all loved him. He is so kind and had a great sense of humor. We loved to tease him and he loved to as well. Prayers to Norm's family. When I think of Norm I always have a smile on my face. RIP Norm.
