With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patricia Ann McDowell, who passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025, with her loving family by her side.
Born on December 10, 1936, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Patricia grew up in a close-knit family and eventually met and married the love of her life, Delmar McDowell Sr. Together, they relocated to Yuma, Arizona, where they built a beautiful life and raised their family.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel Fisher Hamm and Garvin Woodrow Hamm; her brother, Richard Hamm; her sister Faye Weir; her beloved husband, Delmar McDowell Sr.; her sons, Delmar McDowell Jr. and Richard McDowell; her daughter, Teri McDowell; her grandson, Jarret McDowell; and her granddaughter, Cindy Mae McDowell.
She is survived by her sisters Joan Reisler and Barbara Turner; son, Brian McDowell; son-in-law, Glenn Bradford; and her cherished grandchildren: Alicia Tyree, Nick McDowell, Harlee McDowell, Jessica Bradford, Nichole Bradford, Jason McDowell, and Christopher McDowell. Patricia’s legacy also includes 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, all of whom she adored deeply.
Patricia was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a nurturing nanny who held a special place in the hearts of everyone she met. She had a generous and giving spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held on January 24th, 2025 at 9am at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her honor to Hunter’s Army (huntersarmy.com)
Patricia Ann McDowell’s love and devotion to her family and her selfless nature have left an unforgettable mark on the lives of all who loved her. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
